The city of Olympus is a veritable utopia. The Human race lives in peace thanks to the help of the Bioroids, beings similar to humans in every way, except that they are created artificially. At least this is how it appears: in reality there is a growing number of Humans who resent the Bioroids and their increasing importance in society. But it is the arrival in the city of Deunan Kneute, a young warrior famous for her skills in war zones, which definitively alters the balance! Together with her lifelong companion Briareos, who has also become a Biodroid by this time, the girl finds herself caught up in a complex plot to find the mysterious “Appleseed”, a crossroads for the future of life on our planet! APPLESEED is a film created entirely in cell shading, a kind of computer graphics very similar to traditional animation and capable of creating incredible and realistic scenes. Director Shini Aramaki and his staff have created a veritable jewel, enhanced by a soundtrack featuring world-class artists such as the Boom Boom Satellites, Paul Oakenfold, Basement Jaxx and the great Ryuichi Sakamoto.
